Evelyn received BS degrees in Physics and Mathematics and a BA in Music from the University of Chicago. At UChicago, she found an interest in quantum information theory, leading her to work on developing practical quantum communication schemes. These experiences led her to pursue a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, where she is supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (GRFP).
Her research interests include classical and quantum information-theoretic bounds and error correction in quantum communication systems. Outside the lab, she enjoys singing, ballet, running, and weightlifting.
