Photonic Quantum Systems Group (PhoQuS) Led by Prof. Saikat Guha and Dr. Chaohan Cui at the University of Maryland, College Park

Evan grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and graduated from Kalamazoo College with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics, where he worked on reinforcement learning and software engineering. Before beginning his PhD, he worked as a software engineer and studied physics at the University of Colorado Boulder. He then attended the University of Arizona, where he completed his PhD under Dr. Boulat Bash, researching covertness in quantum communication, computing, and sensing.

Evan is now a postdoctoral researcher in the PhoQuS group, where his primary research focuses on scalable photonic quantum computing architectures.

In his free time, Evan enjoys programming, rollerblading, playing soccer, and spending time with his partner and dog.
