Bisweswar Patra received his Ph.D. in Optical Science and Engineering from the University of New Mexico, where he graduated with distinction and was awarded the 2026 Optical Science and Engineering Best Dissertation Award. His research interests include plasmonics, nanophotonics, molecular optomechanics, light–matter interactions in nanoscale systems, and quantum photonics. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. His current research focuses on the generation, manipulation, and measurement of high-dimensional photonic quantum states.
